Senior Support Engineer/ Escalations Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at a rapidly expanding MSP in Preston. They are looking for an experienced Senior Support Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role you will be responding to 2nd/ 3rd line support issues and resolving them in a timely fashion, be a point of escalation for the service desk and will have exposure to the infrastructure network. You will have the opportunity to split your time between remote working and going into the office.

Experience needed:

  • AD, DHCP, DNS, GP
  • Firewall & VPN Technology
  • O365, Exchange, Sharepoint, Teams
  • SQL Server
  • Remote desktop services
  • TCP/IP, routing
  • Windows 10, Windows Server 2008-2019
  • VMWare ESXI & vCenter
  • Veeam

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as an escalation point within the support structure.
  • Leading by example and being a role model for 1st line.
  • Working in a Service Desk environment, answering calls and working through problems with customers.
  • Maintaining Microsoft Windows server operating systems and business applications in a Remote Desktop Services environment.
  • Maintaining wide area networks, including firewall configuration and commissioning VPN’s.
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems.
  • Diagnosing and solving desktop hardware & software application issues.
  • Supporting the roll-out of new business applications.
  • Testing and evaluating new software & hardware technologies.
  • Rollout of new customer equipment, including PC’s, Laptops, Printers, switches etc…
  • Working closely to customer support SLA’s.
  • Working to stringent security procedures and SLA’s.
